ARTIST LINE UP ANNOUNCED FOR CARIBBEAN GOSPEL FESTIVAL 2007

New York, NY, July 21, 2007 – It’s hot, hot, hot!!  This summer will be blazing with the sound of Caribbean Gospel music as the Caribbean Gospel Festival 2007 steps up and out to bring the Spirit to Brooklyn!  This 3rd annual festival, which features the best in Caribbean Gospel music and arts, will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 in Lincoln Terrace Park in Brooklyn, NY (located at Buffalo Avenue and Eastern Parkway) from 1 pm to 9 pm. The event is a unique gospel music experience as it showcases top artists performing in various styles of Caribbean music.

This year’s line-up is the cream of the crop of Caribbean Gospel artists:

Janice Charles, a vocal powerhouse, is by far Grenada's most versatile and innovative Gospel Artiste. Her compelling, melodious vocals and captivating style, stirs, encourages and lifts your spirit as she ministers in Calypso, Caribbean Contemporary and Reggae.

Dunamis, with the release of his self titled debut CD, brings the dancehall reggae flavor.  Fueled by his past experiences, and the life changing events in his life, his mission is to reach the world with the transforming message of the power of God.

KOTIJ Crew, (Keep On Trusting In Jesus) comprised of Slimwonda, King, The Young One and The Specialist, blends Soca, Dancehall, and Hip-Hop on a layer of bass-grinding beats to share their message to the world.

Being a young man from the streets K-One believed that he owed it to God to be a servant and to help the young people that society had given up on because he was once one of them.  He understood firsthand that all they needed was someone to show them that they cared and to let them know that God has a purpose and a plan for their lives. Together with DeVyne, it's guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser as they mix up praise and worship with a combination of Caribbean Gospel and R & B styles.

Disciple of Christ is a Haitian (Creole) band which was created March 1995 in Brooklyn N.Y. This ministry's purpose is to praise and worship the name of our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST through Haitian gospel music. From 1995-2007 the members of the group have been interchanged with new members continuing the works of their predecessors, producing profound and spiritual Caribbean Gospel music.

Mike Roots, known by some as a radio deejay ("Reggae Explorations" on WAPJ in Torrington, CT USA) and internet broadcaster (WTBC Reggae [LOJS]), Roots (born Michael Killiany) has been singing, playing and writing for over twelve years. As a follower of Christ, his songs contain poignant lyrics of hope, yearning and candid commentary.  Combining thoughtful lyrics, uniquely rich vocals, contemporary roots rhythms and solid production, Mike Roots is one of reggae's fresh new voices.

Songs of Solomon is the new sound of spirit-filled Reggae music. The songs are melodic with a rhythmic foundation drawn from various styles of Reggae music. The lyrical content moves you with songs of love, guides you through scripture, and brings to you messages of social concerns.

Deliverance on Steel is a full steel orchestra dedicated to glorifying God through music with a membership of over 25 students.  The instructor and musical director, Mr. Sterling Sample has over 30 years experience studying the art and touring various countries playing the steel drum.  Once he became a Christian, he decided to transfer his passion of playing the steel drum from the secular arena to the melodious gospel sounds which give glory to his Lord.

Emcee L-egant, host of  “The Christian Life Style Evening Show” and DJ Disciple, host of the “Saturday Morning Show”,  on Brooklyn’s own The Spirit Station 106.3 FM (www.thespiritstation.org) will be on hand to keep the good vibes flowing.

There are a few surprise guests expected to make their appearance as well. Organizers say that names will be kept secret and revealed on the day of the show.

This year’s festival will be covered live by CaribVisionTV, which airs 24 hours a day on DirectTV.  Launched in August 2006, CaribVision is a joint venture between two of the most effective broadcast media centers in the Caribbean (CMC-Barbados) and (Soundview Broacasting-NY).  CaribVision is committed to being the channel of choice as their motto states, “We are the eyes and ears of the Caribbean” for all Caribbean people - those with an interest in the culture, lifestyle, news, sports, current affairs and entertainment.
